Private tutoring by a credentialed teacher
My name is Katie. I am a wife to my high school sweetheart and mom to our precious 9 month old son. I live here in Simi Valley and love being with my family and spending time outside hiking, running, or going to the beach!
Since childhood I have wanted to be a teacher. Besides being a mom, I can think of no other occupation that can bring more joy or fulfillment. I am a passionate lifelong learner and want to see students’ lives affected for the better. My education at Pepperdine University, teaching experiences, and personal experiences have taken me to Spanish speaking countries and through these opportunities I have learned the value of learning from, in, and through other cultures and the importance of exposing students to these experiences. My goal is that my students will love learning for the sake of learning, and take new knowledge away from every tutoring session.
I graduated from Pepperdine University on April 30, 2011 with a B.A. in Spanish. Through Pepperdine University’s incredibly thorough and renowned teacher education credential program, I have earned and hold a SB 2042 California Secondary Single Subject Teaching Credential with English Learner Authorization. I have had several hundred hours of teaching experience in all levels of public education. It is my goal to combine my range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, intelligent teacher who will make a positive contribution to your student's journey through learning.
